Power and greed, such things may appeal to a minister for the people. Especially it would seem for a Communications Minister.
Born into wealth and power, he quickly established himself as a charismatic and ruthless leader in politics. However wealth has its disadvantages and vices. Money buys fast cars and cheap thrills. The thrills have become more expensive of late though. Such substances needs to be controlled but seem lessens the stress and loneliness of a top ministerial job. It is said to make a smart man brilliant, which may be the case.
In the daily routine it just comes down to boredom. To be a communications minister is to be halfway up the pyramid. Kissing ass and shoveling shit for his superiors is a daily routine, which appear docile and moronic in his eyes. Being only 28, he is frowned upon by the decadent and aging benchwarmers, aggravated by his fast progression. This accession in parliament was surrounded by rumors and intrigue. He diverts away from questions about his immediate darkened past as it stalls his goal of achieving the Prime Minister ship.
This darkened past has left an edge to his demeanor and whispers in the hall. The sudden death of the past minister and his sudden replacement was never traced back to a large extraction and deposit into the backbenches…
He knows this and so puts a great deal of effort appearing to be a rounded individual in the public limelight. So from the outset he portrays himself as a caring and compassionate worker of the people. He knows that to get to the top he must swallow his ego and pride. This also means keeping any nasty habits in the privacy of his own home.
Unable to create lasting relationships with anyone at the ministry he spends much of his time at home. So it needs to be a refuge, a place where he doesn’t need to put on the public face. His home must be a place where he can take pleasure in his own company, aided by the expensive and rare.

His youth is a great ally in gaining favor with the withering old ladies grasping on to their last breath, these same women holding so many votes that will be crucial in his plans….
